Moving from Stavanger, into the area of Bergen, commanded by I.D 280 (Gen.lt de Boer) In this area there was only one naval commander, but two HKAR´s. The naval commander was Kontraadmiral von Trotha who commanded HKAR 504; and Army CO Bergen was Oberstleutnant Riel who commanded HKAR 977. For a period, MAA 504 was in Bergen. “Marine Flak” units are included when possible.

Equipped with 4 x 15 cm L/50 Bofors, range 18 000 m. Ready in Nov 40. A platoon from this unit was placed at Leröy with 2 x 6,5 cm L/43 (n) guns. At Leröy there also was a torpedo battery with 3 x 53 cm torpedo tubes. This operationally belonged to MAA 504.

MKB 7/ 504 Nesje II Sognefjord
Equipped with 4 x 12,7 cm SKC/34, range 17 000 m. Originally equipped w/ 3 x 12 cm L/44 Armstrong guns from the armoured vessel ”Tordenskjold”, ready in November 1940. Feldpost number 17053H.
There was an accident with these guns in June 41 during practice shooting, and 14 men got killed. Ready in June 43 with the Skoda 12,7 cm guns. Other weapons: 2 x 5,0 cm Pak 97/38  (f) AT guns, 2 x 5,0 cm Kwk  (t) AT, 5 x MG ?? (f), 2 x sMG (n), 4 x MG  (n), 6 x ”Abwehr 42” flame throwers, 3 x 2 cm Madsen AA guns, 1 x 60 cm and 2 x 150 cm floodlights.

Feldpost number 43095. Tactical commanded by Artillerie-Obergruppe Förde, subordinated to HKAR 981. Weapons: 1 x ex. Norwegian MG , one ex. Dutch MG, two radio transmitters (80 W and 5 W), and one 20 ton vessel.

HKB 1/981 Osmundsvaag (14/ 751 – I/ 977)
Combat ready in November 1942, moved out of Norway in August 1944.
Main guns: 4 x 15,5 cm K.432 (b), range: 13000 meter. Other weapons: 1 x 7,65 cm (ts) field gun, 1 x 4,5 cm PAK (r), 1 x ex. Norwegian HMG, 2 x SMG´s, 3 x 2 cm FLAK guns, 1 x 60 cm floodlight.
Mine defences included 1650 naval mines, name of mine fields: 2L. 

HKB 2/ 981 Halsör (2/ 977 - 950 )
Equipped with 4 x 10,5 cm K331(f), range 11 000 m. Ready in June 41. Feldpost number 07178.
Other weapons: 1 x 7,5 cm FK 231 cannon, 3 x ex. Norwegian HMG´s, 2 x ex. Norwegian SMG´s, 14 x “Abwehr 42” flamethrowers, 2 x 2 cm FLAK 38 AA guns. Floodlights: 1 x 60 cm, 1 x 150 cm (r) and one additional 150 cm placed in Osmundsvaag.
Mine defences included 899 naval mines, name of mine fields: 2e.

HKB 3/ 981 Vemelsvik (3/ 977 - 894 )
Equipped with 4 x 10,5 cm K331(f), range 11 000 m. Originally designed "Batterie Kulen" with 4 x 7,5 cm K234(b) guns in May 41. Feldpost number 07005. Other weapons: 2 x 5 cm KwK L/42 AA guns, 2 x ex. Norwegian HMG´s, 2 x ex. Norwegian MG´s, 12 x “Abwehr 42” flamethrowers, 2 x 2 cm FLAK 38 AA guns.
This battery was completely destroyed under the British/Norwegian commando attack at Maalöy, Christmas 1941. Ready (in new locations) Aug 42. Mine defences included 46 naval mines, name of fields: 2g.

Torpedobatterie Angelshaug (MAA 504)
Equipped with 2 x 45 cm torpedo tubes (n). Ready in May 40.

HKB 4/ 981 Skarsten (4/ 977 –  570 )
Equipped with 4 x 10,5 cm K332 (f), range 16 000 m. Originally placed at Berle, and later Naudstdal. Guns replaced with the K331 (f) model during the summer 1943. Ready at Skarstein in May 43. Feldpost number 27483.
Other weapons: 1 x 7,5 cm FK.231 (f) cannon, 1 x 5,0 cm KwK L/42 AT gun, 1 x 8,1 cm M35 (n) mortar, 3 x HMG  (n), 2 x MG (SMG), 17 x ”Abwehr 42” flame throwers, 2 x 2 cm Flak 38 (t) AA guns. Floodlights: 1 x 60cm and 1 x 150 cm (r).
Had one additional platoon at Aspenes (5/977 – 895) with 3 x 7,5 cm K234(b). In 44 the crew was sent to Stavanger to operate a new 21-cm battery, while the crew from Skarsten manned Aspenes.
Mine defences included 2778 naval mines, name of fields: 2m.

HKB 6/ 981 Blaali (7/ 977 –  644  – 2/ 773)
Equipped with 4 x 10,5 cm K331(f) guns, range 11 000 m. Formed in Landshut in July 41. Originally placed at Markersvik / Flokenes in 41, moved to Blaali in April 44. Tactical command by Art. Gruppe Nordfjord. Feldpost number 43099. Other weapons: 1 x 4,5 cm PAK 184 (r), 1 x 2,5 cm Hotchkiss AT gun, 2 x ex. Norwegian HMG´s, 2 x ex. Norwegian LMG´s, 12 x “Abwehr 42” flamethrowers, 2 x 2 cm FLAK 38 AA guns, one 60 cm floodlight. Mine defences included 1613 naval mines, name of mine fields: 2p. 

MKB 9/ 504 Nordfjord
Equipped with 1 x 13 cm L/55 M 1915, range 21100 m, and two 13 cm L/50 M 1940 Russian naval guns. (also called ”Nina”-guns) Feldpost number 17053K. Other weapons were: 1 x 7,7 cm Borfors (s), 4 x HMG (f), 3 x HMG (n), 1 x MG (f), 1 x MG  (n),  45 x ”Abwehr 42” flamethrowers, 3 x 2 cm Madsen AA guns, floodlights: 1 x 60 cm, 1 x 110 cm and 1 x 150 cm
Combat ready in May 1941. 

This unit engaged British warships that attacked Maalöy during Christmas 1941 and one gun got hit and was destroyed by British naval fire. Later the battery got a replacement gun from Germany.
Also subordinated was a platoon at Kraakenes/Vaagsöy with 2 x 7,62 cm Russian guns.

HKB Osmundvaag (1/ 977 – 14/ 751)
Equipped with 4 x 15,5 cm K416(f) guns. Ready in Nov 42, moved out of Norway in Aug 44.

HKB 17/ 981 Klaevold (1./Mot. AR. 269)
Equipped with 4 x 10,5 cm K331 (f) guns, range 12 000 m. Moved to Flostadöya, Arendal in Feb 45.
Other: 1 x 4,5 cm Pak (r) AT gun, 1 x 2,0 cm Kwk  (t) AT gun, 1 x HMG (Dutch) 2 x MG  (Dutch), 12 x ”Abwehr 41” flamethrowers, floodlights: 1 x 60 cm, 1 x 75 cm
